OesenX Story: The Classic, Upgraded

 The 1850s Origin

It began in the 1850s in Sheffield. Master cutler Samuel Wragg designed the first interlocking knife and fork for explorers and soldiers. It was a tool built for survival, designed to travel anywhere. Back then, it was a tool for survival. From the Gold Rush explorers to Civil War soldiers, this "interlocking" design was carried by those who ventured into the unknown. It was built for utility, for the road, for the rough.

But back then, they had a problem: the handles were made of wood. They absorbed water, they cracked, and they weighed down the pack.

Over the centuries, this genius engineering was largely lost to history, relegated to museums.

The Evolution

At OesenX, we believe craftsmanship isn't just about hand-carving wood; it is the relentless pursuit of precision. When we decided to revive this legend using modern Engineered ABS, we didn't take the easy road. We treated this material with the same reverence a jeweler treats gold.

  • The Obsession with Texture: We spent months refining the mold to capture the microscopic grain of Nordic timber. It looks like wood, but it defies water and time.

  • The "Click" of Perfection: A true craftsman cares about the things you can't see but can feel. We engineered the locking mechanism to a tolerance of 0.01mm.  It is the heartbeat of our craft.

We stripped away the industrial roughness. We replaced the bone handles with sustainable,  Engineered Wood-Grain ABS. We swapped the crude iron for 420 polished stainless steel with a high-performance composite that captures the beautiful, organic aesthetic.

At OesenX, we honored the original mechanism but revolutionized the materials.

The Vision: Tools for Life

We live in a "throwaway" culture. Plastic cutlery is used for 20 minutes and pollutes for 200 years. OesenX stands against the disposable. Our vision is to build Enduring Artifacts—tools that are so beautiful, so functional, and so durable that you want to keep them forever. We are not just selling a knife and fork; we are creating a companion for your everyday journey.

Whether you are eating at a desk in New York or a campsite in the Alps, we want OesenX to be the tool that brings dignity and joy to your meal, year after year.
